Bayer was ordered in October 2008 to correct some claims the company made about Yaz and Yasmin in two 60-second television ads. Officials said the TV spots contained misleading statements which incorrectly stated that the birth-control drugs were approved for treating premenstrual syndrome (PMS) and mild acne.
