As a Dallas Xarelto Bleeding Death attorney and Texas medical doctor, I would like to update my readers about the ongoing status of the Xarelto bleeding side effects and wrongful death litigation. Most recently, a wrongful death lawsuit was filed against the makers of Xarelto; Bayer Healthcare and Johnson and Johnson’s subsidiary, Janssen.

Xarelto usage is linked to uncontrollable bleeding and catastrophic injuries.

According to the personal injury and death lawsuit, Julien suffered from atrial fibrillation and used Xarelto to prevent strokes from the atrial fibrillation. Julien developed severe internal bleeding side effects while on Xarelto, which eventually led to his death.

Recently Bloomberg News reported a record $72 million Talcum Powder win. Jacqueline Fox won her case against Johnson & Johnson (J&J) over talcum powder’s risk of causing ovarian cancer in women who apply the powder in their genital area.

Fox died from ovarian cancer in October 2015. In February 2015, a jury in St. Louis found that talcum powder caused the ovarian cancer disease and that J&J was liable for negligence, conspiracy, and failure to warn women of the risk of using talcum Baby Powder in the genital area.

Report: DePuy Pinnacle First Texas Bellwether Trial

The first federal bellwether trial against Johnson & Johnson’s DePuy subsidiary for its allegedly defective Pinnacle Hip Implant has been underway for the past 3 weeks in Dallas, Texas.

The U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas oversaw jury selection on September 2 and over the past three weeks there has been a parade of company executives, paid doctor consultants and defense experts subjected to withering cross examination by the plaintiffs team of lawyers.

DePuy Orthopedics Inc., is facing the first bellwether trial over allegations that the Pinnacle metal-on-metal hip was defectively designed and caused metallosis. According to the plaintiff Kathleen Herlihy-Paoli, the cobalt-and-chromium alloy caused an infection that resulted in the artificial hips to be removed.

Topamax: Johnson and Johnson, Janssen $11 Million Jury Verdict

Johnson & Johnson’s subsidiary, Janssen Pharmaceuticals unit lost a jury trial in Philadelphia over its drug Topamax. The jury ordered the companies to pay $11 million in a product liability lawsuit which claimed that the anti-seizure drug Topamax caused birth defects.

Jurors in state court in Philadelphia found that Janssen failed to adequately warn doctors for Haley Powell, of the risks of Topamax before she gave birth to a son with a cleft lip.

According to sources, Johnson & Johnson (J&J) and its subsidiary DePuy, are in active discussions to attempt a global settlement of their defective ASR metal on metal artificial hips.

J&J Potential Settlement North of $3 Billion

Apparently J&J has discussed paying more than $3 billion to settle lawsuits over its recalled hip implants. J&J is exposed to over 11,500 product liability lawsuits in the U.S. and is considering paying more than $300,000 per case. According to experts, such a global settlement would surpass $3 billion if most plaintiffs accept the proposed terms, this valuation is 50% larger than previously proposed.

Tylenol Liver Failure and Red Cap Warnings

As a Texas medical doctor and Dangerous Drugs attorney, I have been warning about the serious and potentially deadly side effects of this commonly used medication. I have had personal experience of the liver damage that this drug can inflict on the young, elderly and sick patients, during my years as working as an ER physician.

Many a night we struggled to save the lives of young kids who would take Tylenol overdoses as a means of committing suicide. In some instances, the children died, some we managed to save with aggressive medical treatments.

According to experts, almost a quarter of patients take more than the recommended dose, which could result in accidental Tylenol overdoses, increasing the risk of liver failure or death.
